Our Circle Island Tour allows you to see the best of the Big Island. The duration of our travels will be 10 to 11 hours.

We have the following options for our circle island tours as described below that you can select from.  These originate from Kona.  If you are in Hilo our route can be adjusted with the stops below.

1) From Kona up to Waimea and down the Hamakua coast.  The stops are listed in order.

  • Akaka and Kahuna Falls
  • Onemea Scenic Drive
  • Rainbow Falls
  • Liliuokalani Garden
  • Drive by historic Hilo bayfront
  • View King Kamehameha Statue
  • Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory
  • Hilo Coffee Mill
  • Akatsuka Orchid Gardens
  • Volcano National Park - Thurston Lava Tube, Jagger Museum, Halemau'mau Crater and Kilauea Caldera
  • Punaluu Black Sand Beach
  • Continue to Kona

2) From Kona we drive over Saddle Back road between the two mountains in the morning so you could see the views on the drive.  This version of the tour skips Waimea town

  • Akaka and Kahuna Falls
  • Onemea Scenic Drive
  • Rainbow Falls
  • Liliuokalani Garden
  • Drive by historic Hilo bayfront
  • View King Kamehameha Statue
  • Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory
  • Hilo Coffee Mill
  • Akatsuka Orchid Gardens
  • Volcano National Park - Thurston Lava Tube, Jagger Museum, Halemau'mau Crater and Kilauea Caldera
  • Punaluu Black Sand Beach

We can modify the first two options by staying at the Volcano Park until evening and watching the night glow from the Halemau'mau crater at the Jagger Museum.  But this change does not allow us to see Punaluu Black Sand Beach.

3) From Kona we drive south and see the following.

  • Pu'uhonua o HonaunauNational Historic Park. One of the most accessible, interesting, and enchanting cultural sites in the State of Hawaii is the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Translated, the "Place of Refuge at Honaunau" is the most complete restoration of an ancient Hawaiian religious sanctuary in Hawaii.
  • Punalu‘u Black Sand Beach. Here you might get to see turtles basking in the sun.
  • Volcano National Park - Thurston Lava Tube, Jagger Museum, Halemau'mau Crater and Kilauea Caldera
  • Akatsuka Orchid Gardens. You will be amazed at the diversity and beauty. You will see why the Big Island is sometimes refered to as " the Orchid Isle."
  • Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. Here you will be able to take a tour of a working factory. You can also taste some of the different goodies.
  • Liliuokalani Garden
  • Drive by historic Hilo bayfront
  • View King Kamehameha Statue
  • Rainbow Falls for another great view of a waterfall.
  • Akaka Falls State park. This is a short walk and a view that you will want to take some pictures of the 442' waterfall.
