We had a wonderful tour on Dec. 9, 2013. Gil took us to the Volcano National Park, Orchid shop, macadamia nut factory, local market, Rainbow falls & beach that had huge turtles. Tina even had little orchid corsages for the two ladies on the tour. Was well worth the money & would certainly recommend Big Island Aina Tours.

Gil & Tina were like family members to us. Their tours were specially made to see the best things in the best way in the most optimized schedule. The Volcano & its beautiful features were best seen covered with rich geological knowledge of Gil. The waterfalls were also great with sunshine & shadows played their naughty games shrouding the rainbow from us. Gil's knowledge of the Hawaiian flora & fauna is immense & I could photograph many fauna like the mongoose, nene, pheasants & many singing birds. Their Van is very comfortable, new & very spacious. The snacks & ample water provided is a welcome love. I will return soon again to see them again.

God Bless you all Gill & Tina.

Tina. Just wanted to say thanks again for showing the three of us a very good day on the big island. Got some wonderful pics and Kristi really loved the black beach and the turtles. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for the wonderful tour yesterday. We had such a great time and learned a lot. We talked at dinner about the lava field and could not remember the terms you told us for everything. I would highly recommend you to everyone I know going to Hilo.

Thanks again,
Mike

Just like the previous few reviews, we too were on a cruise and booked a custom tour with Big Island Aina Tours as a way for us to see Hilo for the day. I found this tour company here on trip advisor and decided to email them as they were one of the top rated companies. Right from the beginning, correspondence with Gil was professional and extremely helpful so I posted this on Cruise Critic to get other cruisers to join us on the tour. Tina picked up our group of 6 from the dock and we enjoyed a wonderful day. The best part is we felt like we did and saw a lot but at a very relaxed and comfortable pace. We started out at the Rainbow Falls lookout and then made our way to the macademia nut visitor centre followed by the Hilo Coffee Mill and then Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Inside the park, we saw the Kilauea Iki volcano and walked through the Thurston Lava Tube and saw some steam vents. Next, we enjoyed lunch at a winery where some did wine tasting while others relaxed and ate. Lastly, we visited the Black Sand Beach before heading back to the docks. All in all, it was a very successful day with a very knowledgeable tour guide. On the way to different sites, Tina also offered us chocolate covered macademia nuts and fresh pineapples!
