Walk #1  " Kilauea-Iki Crater " in Volcano National Park, Hawaii

• A five mile roundtrip hike in the rainforest and entering the floor of a once molten lava lake known as" Kilauea Iki Crater"
• This lava dry lake has been cooling for fifty-one years since its last eruption in 1959.
• Descending/ascending  switchback trails equivalent to climbing down and up a forty story building (400').
• See steam vents- evidence of internal heat in earths core
• Elevation: 3,874 ft. above sea level
• Explore Thurston Lava tube where molten rock flowed 500 years ago
• Jagger Museum and Halemau mau crater
• We see Akatsuka Orchid Nursery and Liliuokalani Garden in Hilo on the Bayfront

          Must be in fine physical condiition with good stamina

• Good sturdy tennis shoes or hiking boots even better
• Carry water
• Light energy snacks
• Camera
• Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen

      Walk #2    Sulfur Banks and Steam Vent Trail in Volcano National Park, Hawaii

•  Moderate walking path with very little incline/decline to see the natural occurance of sulfur banks and steam produced     from water passing over geothermal heated rocks below earth's surface.

      *   This tour is an add-on to the Volcano National Park Tour, and the additional time for the walk would be one hour.
