Ahalanui State Park:  Bring your shades and swimsuit to this wonderfully relaxing calm queen's bath geothermal warm pond.  Soak in the warm spring water mixed with fresh oceanwater flows.  Relax and enjoy the sound of the waves without worrying about the ocean currents.   Bask under the coconut palms and warm summer skies of Hawaii.  You may want to snorkel or just float on your back.   One of the definite gems of the big island, where you will find a tropical oasis. 

Lava Tree State Park:  See the monument of trees encased by lava.  These molds stand as reminders of lava flows of past years.  Be awed at the tree canopy as you stroll these garden paths.

Kalapana Pahoehoe Lava and Black Sand Beach:  One of the few black sand beaches on this youngest of islands.  Marvel at the vast expanses of pahoehoe and planted coconut palms as you walk to the ocean vista.
